Master´s in Molecular Biomediciner

The Master’s program in Molecular Biomedicine seeks to train professionals with solid scientific knowledge at the physiological, cellular and/or molecular levels of the biomedical sciences to generate new knowledge to understand and intervene in physiopathological phenomena and propose biotechnological, therapeutic and/or methodological solutions for treatment or diagnosis.

Description

The program is based on the country’s need for an academic-professional program in the health area that provides the tools to develop research in areas of knowledge that can be applied to prevention, diagnosis, development of new therapies and/or innovation in biotechnological developments.

Aimed at students graduated from the following programs:

  • Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Medical Technology, Medicine, Biotechnology and other related careers.
  • Obstetrics, Occupational Therapy, Kinesiology and Nutrition.

Objectives

General Objective

To train professionals with solid scientific knowledge at the physiological, cellular and/or molecular levels of biomedical sciences in order to generate new knowledge with the objective of understanding and intervening in physio-pathological phenomena and to propose biotechnological, therapeutic and/or methodological solutions for treatment or diagnosis.

Specific Objectives

  • Master advanced theoretical-practical and methodological knowledge in biomedicine.
  • Critically analyze a biomedical problem and propose concrete solutions through the use of physiological, cellular and/or molecular tools.
  • Perform experimental research in the area of Biomedicine generating a link between basic sciences, clinical and/or biotechnological industry.
  • To act respecting the current regulatory framework and its ethical principles defined for the development of research.

Graduate Profile

The graduate of the Master in Molecular Biomedicine has a solid theoretical and practical base of scientific knowledge that allows him/her to develop in the areas of biomedical sciences with a cellular and molecular approach. He/she is qualified to perform high-level research, being a link between basic frontier research and biomedical problems, capable of proposing solutions and developing appropriate methodologies for problem solving.

The graduate performs with a critical view and scientific spirit, respecting ethical, social and environmental standards in their work. They are capable of leading and working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Expected performance in Molecular Biosciences:

  • Masters advanced theoretical-practical and methodological knowledge in his/her disciplinary área.
  • Critically analyzes and proposes complex solutions in the area of Biomedicine.
  • Formulates and evaluates research projects in areas of Molecular Biology, with emphasis on interdisciplinary research, addressing biomedical topics such as Neuroscience, Immunology, Developmental Biology, Genomics and Proteomics, and Cell and Gene Therapy.
  • He conducts experimental research in the area of Molecular Biomedicine, making significant contributions to biomedicine and generating a link between basic and clinical science.
  • He coordinates, leads and integrates multidisciplinary research teams.

  • Letter of intent addressed to the program director expressing the applicant’s interest to enter the master’s program.
  • Original certificate or notarized photocopy attesting the academic degree of Bachelor and/or equivalent professional degree.
  • Transcript of grades of undergraduate studies.
